Sara Cascione joined the group of Valeria Orlova in January as a postdoc. She completed her PhD at the San Raffaele Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-TIGET) in Milano, under the supervision of Andrea Ditadi. During her PhD, Sara worked with hPSCs for the study of human hematopoietic development and disease modeling. At LUMC, as part of the LymphChip consortium, her project aims to develop Organs-on-Chip of heart, skin and gut, integrating lymphatic vasculature and immune cells. Specifically, Sara will work on generating functional lymphatic endothelial cells from hiPSCs.
