Elena Aprea joins the group of Clementine Boutry at TU Delft

Elena Aprea joined the group of Clementine Boutry in June 2023 as a PhD. She completed her Master’s at the University of Pisa and Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, in Pisa. During her Master’s Thesis, Elena worked in John Rogers’ group on the microfabrication of a fully bioresorbable optical filter to be embedded in a cardiac pacemaker. At TU Delft, as part of the NOCI consortium, her project aims to exploit biodegradable technologies for perfused brain organoids in an Organ-on-Chip platform, with a special focus on the development of biodegradable membranes triggered on-demand to allow the timely vascularization of organoids.
