Sam Biermans has started as new PhD candidate in the group of Siebe Spijker and Ton Rabelink at LUMC. Focus of her research is the development of a kidney organoid toxicity platform, which will be used to unravel the pathophysiology of nephrotoxicity caused by new semisynthetic antibiotics, with the ultimate goal of preventing kidney damage.
