After 6 years of diligent service Ellen Thomassen has left hDMT. From January 1st 2024 Ellen started a new position as secretary of the Board of the Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Twente.
As central coordinator of hDMT, Ellen contributed enormously to its development over many years. She also supported multi-partner national and European projects like NOCI, ORCHID and SMART-OoC. She had a crucial role in the coordination of the European Organ-on-Chip Society (EUROoCS) from its inception and contributed to its further professionalization. During the hDMT Consortium meeting on December 1st 2023 in Amersfoort, the hDMT team and members gave a big ‘thank you to Ellen’ for her excellent work, loyalty and down-to-earth help and advice. As a parting gift, she received a statue of an owl as a symbol of her wisdom and watchfulness. We all wished her well in her new function!
