Purpose The aim is to enable an interdisciplinary approach to prevention and treatment of kidney graft failure. Interdisciplinary projects focus on research leading to biomedical breakthroughs. The social aspects (e.g. economic and ethical aspects, inclusivity, communication, behaviour and autonomy of users) are an integral part of the approach. This will improve the transplant survival and thus life expectancy and quality of life of kidney transplant patients. In the future, more patients on the waiting list will have timely access to kidney transplantation.
