Spring time: the power of new beginnings

This newsletter is full of new initiatives, new projects and new people within hDMT.

An important milestone is the investment of €124.5 M by the Dutch National Growth Fund in a new centre for animal-free biomedical translation (CPBT), that will accelerate the transition to animal-free testing. hDMT will contribute as partner to this exciting and timely initiative of Utrecht University, University Medical Center Utrecht, HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).

Another new initiative is the kick-off of the Lung-on-Chip group, representing the 10th hDMT theme group. Also several new projects have started, focusing on the development of new disease models and new analytical tools for drug research. PhD students finished their thesis and started a new career. And last but not least we are very glad that two new people joined our hDMT team.

We are confident that these new beginnings will blossom in the next seasons and will result in many new connections and collaborations in the Organ-on-Chip field.
