EUROoCS Digital lectures

This session will feature three brilliant researchers who are making groundbreaking advancements in Organ-on-Chip technology:

👩‍🔬 Mara Lucchetti will present on “Emulating the gut-liver axis: dissecting the microbiome’s effect on drug metabolism using multi-organ-on-chip models”. Mara has developed an innovative multi-organ-on-chip platform that predicts the gut microbiome’s impact on drug metabolism. Her research integrates the HuMiX model with the Dynamic42 liver-on-chip, providing a comprehensive tool to understand gut-liver interactions. Mara pursued her education in Biomedical Sciences at the Université Catholique de Louvain and is now a postdoctoral researcher in Paul Wilmes’ lab.

👨‍🔬 Mohammad Jouybar Jouy Bar will discuss “Tubular microchannels influence endothelial orientation: modeling cancer metastasis on a chip”. Holding a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Mohammad is now pursuing his PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology. His work on Cancer-on-Chip models has successfully mimicked cancer invasion and intravasation, providing insights into cancer metastasis.

👨‍🔬 Janko Kajtez will present “3D-Printed Microfluidic Platform for Axon Guidance in Human Stem Cell Derived Neuronal Cultures”. Janko completed his PhD at Technical University of Denmark and is currently a postdoc at Lund University, focusing on developing stem cell-derived Parkinson’s disease models for phenotypic drug screening. His expertise in biomaterial and biofabrication solutions is paving the way for advancements in neurobiology applications.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from these innovative young scientists! Mark your calendars and join us for an insightful session on cutting-edge organ-on-chip research.
