ARTIC drives the future of microscale fluid control with innovative, nature-inspired solutions. As a spin-off from the Microsystems research group at Eindhoven University of Technology (group of Jaap den Toonder), ARTIC harnesses the power of Magnetic Artificial Cilia to transform how fluids are manipulated at the microscale.
ARTIC’s dedicated team includes co-founders Laure van der Sanden, Hossein Eslami Amirabadi and Jaap den Toonder, along with the postdoctoral researcher, Marie Monchablon, who will be driving most of the R&D efforts. As the first step, ARTIC will focus on developing an advanced, user-friendly micropump platform for Organ-on-Chip, enabling microphysiological flow without any physical connections.
ARTIC has secured initial funding and is actively raising new funding to accelerate its progress.
Looking ahead, ARTIC’s goal is to translate the artificial cilia technology into multiple impactful applications across life sciences and chemical engineering fields, such as heterogeneous multiphase catalysis, ensuring that our innovations benefit society at large
