Microphysiological systems for women health
The third webinar of the CSEM series, organized jointly with Women's Brain Project, on Microphysiological systems for women health, is taking place on Thursday, September 16, 2021 between 16:00 and 17:30.
Little attention has been paid in the past to the influence of sex in biomedical research. Several reports highlighted the crucial aspect of sex-specific differences in efficacy and drug treatments, disease frequency and symptoms. Organ-on-a-chip and microphysiological systems have the potential to deliver new insights and enable entirely new types of studies by recapitulating female specific physiology.
Dr. Femke M.S. de Vrij (hDMT Partner EMC), Associate Professor Stem Cell Modelling of Neuropsychiatric Disorders, Department of Psychiatry, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam is one of the speakers of this webinar.
