200 participants at two-day Life-on-Chip 2020 conference
The second edition of the conference 'Life-on-Chip - Enabling personalized medicine by cross-over innovation' attracted almost 200 participants. A resounding success, according to the organizing parties. This year's conference was dominated by innovations in life sciences and crossovers with other technologies such as micro- and nanotechnology, medical and digital technology. The matchmaking also received a great deal of enthusiasm.
As in the first edition, Organ-on-Chip technology was again one of the topics addressed in several lectures. hDMT researcher Valeria Orlova from Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands presented her newest results about the development of a Vessels-on-Chip model for genetic vascular diseases using patient-specific stem cells.
The conference was organised by the 'Health' cluster of Smart Hub Flemish Brabant, together with flanders.bio, DSP Valley, IBN Space 4.0, BioWin, VIB, EIT Health, Antleron and imec.
