LUMC supports iPS cell Hotel

Tuesday, 5 September 2017

The LUMC has granted the iPSC core facility extra finance to support the development of an "iPS cell Hotel". In a start up phase, 2 new postdocs and a technician will be trained to support training in the use of human induced pluripotent stem cells and the co-development of new differentiation protocols and gene modification strategies. This is intended to accelerate implementation of iPS cells in new applications in therapy but also Organs-on-Chip and other disease models. The ambition is eventually to build a physical "HOTEL". It is expected that the support will come online 2018 once the training and recruitment of personell is complete.
