Eye-on-chip workshop DesignLab UT

Wednesday, 26 September 2018

On 5 and 6 July, technologists, stem cell specialists, industry and patient representatives came together in DesignLab University of Twente. They explored the potential of a living retina fragment on a chip, working as a model for the eye, and formulated a common research agenda for the coming years.

hDMT researcher Andries van der Meer of the University of Twente expects that using an eye-on-chip less invasive treatment can be found for worsening eyesight caused by macular degeneration. Read his Blog 'Out of your comfort zone' about the upcoming new theme Eye-on-Chip.
