The EUROoCS Annual Meeting 2024, will take place in the beautiful city of Milan, Italy, from July 3rd – 5th , 2024. This event is a unique opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones in the field of Organ-on-chip. The conference, chaired by Marco Rasponi and Paola Occhetta, will last for two and a half days and will include keynote lectures, parallel scientific sessions, interactive poster sessions, round tables, thematic sessions, and opportunities for guided tours to cutting-edge micro and nanofabrication facilities.
Venue
EUROoCS2024 will be hosted in the original historical Leonardo Campus of Politecnico di Milano. The “Trifoglio” building within the Leonardo Campus has been identified as the ideal location to host EUROoCS 2024.
Keynote speakers
The keynote speakers include Kimberly Homan, PhD (Genentech, Inc., San Francisco, USA), Dan Huh, PhD (University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA), Sonja Beken, PhD (Belgian Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP), Bruxelles, Belgium), Ivan Martin, PhD (University Hospital Basel, University of Basel, Switzerland), Liesbet Geris, PhD (University of Liège and KU Leuven, Belgium), and Yaakov Nahmias, PhD (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI), Israel).
For the call for presentations of national Organ-on-Chip initiatives, consortia, or networks, hDMT will submit a one-minute video presenting the national consortium in a nutshell.
The social event, included in the registration fee, will be hosted at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci, one of the leading technical-scientific museums in Europe. The museum hosts the world’s largest permanent exhibition dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, which will be exclusively accessible during the dinner to EUROoCS 2024 delegates.
Travel grants
Travel grants (€ 500,-) are offered by EUROoCS to highly motivated master students, PhD students or postdocs worldwide, to attend the EUROoCS 2024 conference.
Eligibility criteria:
1. Member of EUROoCS, fee paid for 2024
2. Master student, PhD student or postdoc (PhD degree after July 1st 2021, no permanent position at a university or company)
3. (Co)-author of submitted abstract for EUROoCS2024 and willing and able to present the results at the conference
Selection criteria:
1. Quality: Scientific excellence and relevance of the research
2. Age: priority to young researchers
3. Country: preference will be given to researchers working at institutions in low-middle income countries as defined by the World Bank.

– A letter of confirmation from the supervisor (for master and PhD students) or head of the research group (for postdocs) regarding the status of the applicant
– CV (max 1 A4)
– Motivation statement (max 250 words)
– Abstract ID

Registration will open soon with special reduced fees available to members of EUROoCS. For EUROoCS members, the fees are €450 for seniors and €280 for students (+ €50 late registration after 15 April 2024). For non-society members, the fees are €550 for seniors and €330 for students (+ €50 late registration after 15 April 2024).
